Job title Junior Oracle DBA Location Hyderabad Experience 2-3 Years We are seeking a motivated Oracle Database Administrator with 2 years of hands-on experience to join our infrastructure support team The ideal candidate will have foundational DBA skills with specific exposure to Oracle environments running on SPARC servers and utilizing ZFS storage In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day health performance and availability of our critical databases to ensure we meet our strict 99 9 availability SLA Key Responsibilities Database Monitoring Health Checks Perform 24x7 monitoring and proactive health checks of Oracle databases on SPARC systems Respond to alerts and escalate critical issues to meet the 15-minute response time SLA Backup Recovery Operations Execute and validate daily weekly backup jobs using RMAN Assist in database recovery scenarios to ensure data integrity and availability Performance Tuning Support Assist senior DBAs in performance tuning activities by gathering statistics identifying long-running queries and monitoring wait events on the SPARC ZFS platform Patch Management Security Apply quarterly security patches and PSUs to Oracle databases on SPARC servers under the direction of senior team members ZFS Storage Integration o Provision and manage storage LUNs on Oracle ZFS storage appliances for database needs o Work with snapshot technologies on ZFS for rapid cloning and data protection o Monitor storage performance and capacity reporting on utilization Data Guard Support Assist in the implementation monitoring and routine switchover failover tests of Oracle Data Guard configurations for high availability Ticketing Documentation Log all activities incidents and changes in the ticketing system Create and maintain transparent documentation for procedures and configurations Required Qualifications Experience Education Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field Experience 2-3 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator Platform-Specific Skills Mandatory o Practical experience administering Oracle databases running on Oracle SPARC servers o Hands-on experience with Oracle ZFS Storage Appliances including provisioning snapshot and replication management Core Oracle DBA Skills o Proficient in Oracle database installation creation and basic configuration o Hands-on experience with RMAN for backup and recovery o Understanding of Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery o Familiarity with applying patches and performing upgrades o Basic skills in SQL tuning and performance monitoring AWR ASH reports are a plus Operational Skills o Ability to work in a shift model to support an 8x7 hybrid support environment and be available for on-call escalation Preferred Qualifications Oracle Database Administration certifications e g OCA OCP Exposure to Oracle RAC and ASM Basic scripting skills in Shell Perl or Python for automation Experience working under SLAs in a managed services environment Only suitable candidates may email CVs to info bsit sa Job Type Full-time Pay 100 000 00 - 200 000 00 per year Work Location In person
