Role & responsibilities

Wintel & VMware SMEKey Responsibilities:Infrastructure Administration & Support

- Design, implement, administer and support enterprise Windows Server and VMware infrastructure.
- Manage the complete lifecycle of Windows and VMware environments, including provisioning, upgrades, migrations, patching, optimization and decommissioning.
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, File & Print Services, DFS/DFSR and Certificate Services.
- Manage VMware environments including ESXi, vCenter, vSphere, HA/DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, Distributed Switches and Lifecycle Manager.
- Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, security hardening and infrastructure optimization.

Active Directory & Identity Management

- Act as SME for Active Directory administration and troubleshooting.
- Manage Domain Controllers, Forests and Trusts, AD Replication, FSMO Roles, LDAP integrations and Group Policy administration.
- Support hybrid identity environments and integrations with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Troubleshoot authentication, authorization and Single Sign-On (SSO) issues.

Datacenter & Hardware Operations

- Manage enterprise datacenter infrastructure and server operations.
- Support Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, blade and rack server environments.
- Perform firmware, BIOS and driver upgrades, hardware health monitoring and vendor coordination for hardware incidents and replacements.
- Participate in datacenter migration, refresh, consolidation and modernization projects.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

- Design, implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
- Execute DR testing,



failover/failback activities, backup validation and recovery readiness assessments.
- Develop and maintain DR documentation, operational procedures and runbooks.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

- Develop and maintain automation solutions using PowerShell, PowerCLI and Terraform.
- Automate infrastructure administration, monitoring, reporting, patching and operational tasks.
- Drive standardization, process improvements and operational efficiency across infrastructure platforms.

Technical Leadership

- Provide L3/L4 support and lead resolution of complex infrastructure issues across Windows, VMware and datacenter technologies.
- Lead infrastructure projects, upgrades and transformation initiatives.
- Mentor support teams, perform root cause analysis (RCA) and contribute to technical documentation, standards and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

- 10+ years of experience in Wintel infrastructure administration and support.
- Strong expertise in Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, DFS, Certificate Services, and SCCM/MECM.
- Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi, vCenter, vSphere, HA/DRS, vMotion, and virtualization lifecycle management.
- Experience with Dell and HPE server platforms, datacenter operations, and hardware lifecycle management.
- Solid understanding of disaster recovery, backup and business continuity processes.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change and Service Management.
- Good understanding of cloud and backup technologies.
