Role Summary - Well Log Analyst





Responsible for end-to-end well log Digitization, conditioning, depth matching, log merging/splicing, and creation of composite logs with full audit trail.

Perform basic "quick look" petrophysical analysis on conditioned well log data to support early-stage exploration screening.

Generate indicative (non-final) petrophysical outputs, including Volume of shale (Vsh), Porosity (PHI), Net-to-Gross (NTG), Water saturation (Sw), Permeability (K)

Key Responsibilities

- Load and organize well datasets (LAS/DLIS/CSV)
- Create structured datasets for Logs & Manage well header Metadata population
- Maintain dataset consistency across wells and Load and QC raw well log data (LAS/DLIS)
- Standardize mnemonics and units
- Perform Digitization
- Perform depth matching, Merge and splice multiple runs
- Generate composited logs
- Conduct gap analysis per curve set, identify curves requiring digitization
- Wireline and LWD Log Quality Control
- Maintain audit trail of all log edits

Required Skills
- Experience with Subsurface data formats (LAS, DLIS, WITSML - optional)
- Good understanding of Wireline & LWD/MWD Well Logs, curves and industry standards of Well log data acquisition and Processing.
- Experience in Geological and petrophysical interpretation methods and thorough understanding of processing & interpretation software workflows.
- Collaborate with Petrophysicists, Geologists, Geophysicists, and Reservoir Engineers.
- Understanding of drilling environments and logging tool measurements.

Experience in: NeuraLog, GeoLog, PowerLog, Techlog Expertise in: Log Digitization, QC & conditioning, Depth matching techniques, Multi-run log correlation

Experience:

- Master Degree in Geology, Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Typically 5+ years of experience as a Petrophysicist.
