Role Purpose The Welding Engineer will be responsible for executing and supervising welding activities in line with WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) and PQR (Procedure Qualification Record). The role ensures adherence to quality standards, safety compliance, and coordination with third-party inspections and laboratories.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out welding operations as per approved WPS/PQR under departmental supervision.
- Ensure welding quality requirements are consistently achieved.
- Prepare proposed WPS and record PQR documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of welding activities and monitor compliance with WPS/PQR.
- Coordinate with Third Party Inspectors (TPI) for WPS witness and with laboratories for PQR testing.
- Arrange client discussions, TPI, and lab witness activities related to welding.
- Report near misses, incidents, and accidents to the Safety Committee.
- Implement and maintain 5S practices in the workplace.
- Ensure 100% compliance with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements.
- Drive EHS implementation and compliance across welding operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Robust knowledge of welding processes, WPS/PQR documentation, and quality standards.
- Experience in coordinating with TPI, labs, and clients for welding-related activities.
- Familiarity with safety practices, incident reporting, and EHS compliance.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
