Roles & Responsibilities :

We are looking for an experienced Collections Manager to lead and optimize our collections operations within the automotive finance business. This role is responsible for driving collection performance, improving portfolio quality, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing a high-performing collections team. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with solid operational expertise and a customer-centric approach to delinquency management and recovery.

Key Responsibilities :

* Lead the day-to-day operations of the Collections department to achieve delinquency, recovery, and operational performance targets.

* Develop, implement, and continuously improve collection strategies across early-stage, mid-stage, and late-stage delinquent accounts.

* Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Collections Supervisors and Collection Representatives to achieve individual and team performance goals.

* Manage workforce planning, staffing, scheduling, hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development.

* Investigate disputed balances and ensure timely, accurate resolution while maintaining excellent customer service standards.

* Monitor portfolio performance, collection trends, roll rates, cure rates, recovery metrics, and other operational KPIs to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

* Prepare and present operational dashboards, forecasts, executive reports, and performance metrics to senior leadership.

* Ensure compliance with all applicable company policies and consumer finance regulations, including FDCPA, FCRA, CFPB, UCC, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

* Partner with Risk, Operations, Customer Service, Legal, Compliance, and Finance teams to improve portfolio performance and customer experience.





* Oversee payment arrangements, skip tracing, repossession coordination, bankruptcy accounts, and recovery processes where applicable.

* Monitor and manage third-party collection agencies and external vendors to ensure performance and compliance standards are met.

* Support process improvement initiatives, automation projects, system enhancements, and digital transformation efforts.

* Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and workforce productivity.

* Maintain confidentiality while exercising integrity, sound judgment, and professionalism during challenging customer interactions.

Preferred candidate profile :

* Experience in automotive lending, captive finance, or indirect auto finance.

* Knowledge of repossession, bankruptcy, skip tracing, and recovery operations.

* Experience with predictive dialers, workforce management systems, and collections analytics tools.

* Lean Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement certification is an advantage.
