Role Description This is a full-time, on-site VLSI Physical Design Engineer role based in Bengaluru. The VLSI Physical Design Engineer will work on physical implementation of complex SoCs and IP blocks, including floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, and timing closure.

Daily responsibilities include collaborating with front-end design and verification teams, running physical design tools and flows, analyzing STA reports, and addressing congestion, DRC, and power-related issues. The engineer will also participate in design reviews, contribute to optimization of PPA (Power, Performance, Area),



and support sign-off activities across multiple technology nodes. The role involves close coordination with cross-functional teams and adherence to project schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Robust expertise in physical design implementation, including floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, and timing closure.
- Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools for physical design and sign-off (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor tools for P&R;, STA, and DRC/LVS).
- Solid understanding of VLSI concepts, digital design fundamentals, and RTL-to-GDSII flows.
- Experience with static timing analysis, power analysis, signal integrity, and design rule checks.
- Ability to debug complex design issues, optimize PPA, and work across multiple technology nodes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, VLSI, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in ASIC or SoC physical design is highly beneficial; exposure to design verification flows is a plus.
