About Sarus Group
Sarus Group is a Hyderabad-headquartered diversified conglomerate operating across four core verticals, each housed in a distinct legal entity with its own capital structure, regulatory regime and operating rhythm:
Infrastructure & Real Estate (Sarus) — Infrastructure includes EPC and turnkey execution across power, transmission and civil infrastructure, with a growing order book from state utilities and public sector clients. Project-based revenue recognition, retention monies, performance bank guarantees and long working-capital cycles define the finance profile.
Real Estate has a portfolio exceeding 20 lakh sq. ft. under development across multiple projects in Hyderabad and Vijayawada, spanning apartments, villas and mixed-use formats. Funded through a blend of construction finance, NBFC and mezzanine debt, PE/AIF participation, customer advances and NRI/HNI structures, with RERA-mandated escrow discipline and percentage-of-completion accounting.
Renewables (Akaya) — Utility-scale renewable generation and battery energy storage (BESS), including a 187.5 MW / 750 MWh, four-hour storage project awarded on a BOO basis. The vertical operates through SPV structures, is dependent on project finance, viability gap funding and long-tenor PPAs, and requires disciplined DSCR management and lender covenant compliance.
Mining (GeoRa) — Mineral concessions and allied operations, involving statutory royalty and DMF obligations, JV arrangements, and title, lease and environmental compliance interfaces.
The Mandate The Group is at an inflection point. Growth to date has been driven by entrepreneurial speed and vertical-level autonomy; the next phase requires institutional financial architecture. Each vertical presently maintains its own books, banking relationships, reporting cadence and controls — the consequence being fragmented visibility, inconsistent controls,
sub-optimal treasury deployment and a consolidation process that is retrospective rather than decision-enabling.
The Vice President – Finance will be expected to design and build a single, centralised and integrated financial operations mechanism spanning all entities and SPVs. Specifically:
- A unified chart of accounts and common accounting policy framework across entities, reconciling the differing revenue recognition and cost-capitalisation conventions of EPC, energy, mining and real estate.
- Centralised treasury — group-level cash visibility, banking consolidation, inter-company funding discipline, and optimised deployment of surplus across entities without breaching SPV ring-fencing or lender covenants.
- A single ERP/financial reporting backbone delivering monthly consolidated MIS, entity-wise P&L;, project-level profitability and rolling cash-flow forecasts within defined timelines.
- Standardised internal controls, delegation of authority, procurement-to-pay and revenue-to-cash processes applied uniformly across verticals.
- Centralised compliance — direct and indirect tax, ROC, FEMA where applicable, and statutory filings for all entities under one calendar and one accountability structure.
- A structured capital-raising and lender-relationship function serving all four verticals, including debt syndication, project finance closure, equity and quasi-equity structuring, and investor reporting.
What We Are Looking For This is a build role, not a maintenance role. The successful candidate will be a CA, CMA, MBA in Finance, or equivalent with substantial experience in multi-entity, project-driven businesses — ideally with exposure to infrastructure, energy or real estate — who has previously led an ERP or shared-services implementation and is comfortable operating with significant autonomy in an workplace where systems are being created rather than inherited.
The role reports directly to the Managing Director and carries group-wide authority across all entities.
