We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced US Chartered Accountant (CPA preferred) to manage and oversee US accounting, taxation, financial reporting, auditing, and regulatory compliance for US-based clients. The ideal candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP, IRS regulations, Federal and State taxation, payroll compliance, and audit procedures.
The candidate will work remotely from India while collaborating with US clients and internal teams during US business hours.
Role & responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
- Perform account reconciliations and month-end/year-end closing activities.
- Review General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Bank Reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
US Taxation
- Prepare and review Federal and State tax returns.
- Handle Corporate, Partnership, LLC, and Individual tax filings.
- Prepare and review
- Form 1120
- Form 1120S
- Form 1065
- Form 1040
- Form 990 (preferred)
- Prepare estimated tax payments.
- Ensure timely IRS and State tax compliance.
- Respond to IRS notices and assist in tax resolutions.
- Support tax planning and advisory services.
IRS Compliance
- Maintain compliance with all applicable IRS regulations.
- Review tax documentation and supporting schedules.
- Coordinate responses to IRS correspondence.
- Ensure adherence to filing deadlines and compliance requirements.
Auditing & Internal Controls
- Conduct financial statement audits.
- Assist with external and internal audits.
- Evaluate internal controls and recommend improvements.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with audit standards and regulatory requirements.
Payroll & Compliance
- Review US payroll processing.
- Ensure payroll tax compliance.
- Coordinate W-2, 1099, and related year-end filings.
- Assist with employee tax-related reporting.
Financial Analysis
- Prepare management reports and KPI dashboards.
- Perform budgeting and forecasting.
- Analyse financial performance and recommend improvements.
- Assist management in strategic financial planning.
Client Management
- Communicate with US clients professionally.
- Participate in virtual meetings.
- Understand client requirements and provide accounting and tax solutions.
- Coordinate with offshore accounting teams.
Required Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (India) or US CPA (Preferred)
- Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- CPA certification will be an added advantage
Experience
- 510 years of experience in US Accounting and Taxation
- Prior experience in a CPA firm, public accounting, or outsourced accounting environment preferred
