The Credit Portfolio Group Manager is a senior management-level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department to monitor the Citi portfolio and identify credit migration in coordination with the Risk Management team. The overall objective of this role is to lead the management of Citi's portfolio exposure to client and counterparties globally. Responsibilities:

Lead and develop a team of risk analysts and manage complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas

Lead risk financial forecasting efforts, including designing and maintaining complex credit loss and financial risk forecasting models, conducting cost of credit analyses, and monitoring product trends to identify key areas of risk-opportunity

Develop, test, optimize and implement credit/valuation policies

Manage risk levels for the entire credit/valuation spectrum across multiple products and retail formats consistent with program financial goals

Track and report on initiatives, performance results, emerging trends and opportunities to senior management

Establish cross-functional partnerships and networks in order to support the execute cross-functional and business initiatives

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications

15+ years of experience in credit risk management or equivalent training

Experience in the financial services industry preferred

Demonstrated accountability for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/geographic regions

Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication

Proven negotiation skills often used at a senior level

Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with urgency

Ability to obtain support and buy-in across a wide range of internal and external audiences

Education

Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Master's degree preferred

This role will be the India Unsecured Policy lead responsible for end-to-end risk strategy and execution, including managing credit losses.



You will work closely with business and risk partners to drive initiatives that deliver growth and resilient profitability for the Unsecured portfolio. You will also leverage shared functions such as collections, governance, loss forecasting, and risk systems to support business needs effectively.

In this role, you will

Supports the management and optimization of risk policy for a $150B+ portfolio by leveraging best practices across risk functions to ensure consistent and efficient portfolio-wide risk mitigation.

Partner with central Risk functions, including Acquisition Risk, Existing Customer Management (ECM) Risk, and Strategic Initiative Risk

Lead the team in performing quantitative analyses to assess risk-adjusted return, risk segmentation, and tradeoffs in Policy Changes

Lead and develop reporting subordinates, especially around developing sound analytical approach to solve business problems

Drive innovative thinking about leveraging new tools/methods to transform the analytical capability of the organization

Understand regulatory headwinds actions and develop mitigation / opportunity strategies

Ensure simplification and standardization of the process, strategies and bring synergies across USCC

Ensure appropriate documentation of the current process to drive better productivity levels

Cross functional leadership (communication and influencing) to drive towards common goal across risk organization i.e.

Credit

Abuse, PQR, RAF, ROTCE, Strategic Initiatives, Independent risk.

Maintain a strong culture of risk and controls in the team through various process and check points and ensure that the risk in operations is understood and controlled by the team members

Respond to effective challenge from second line

Serve as SME for audits, model use and implementation of strategies

Ensuring strategies are executed in a strong control workplace

Plan and hire the right set of people, train, guide, coach, develop, appraise and reward people based on meritocracy and drive alignment between US and India leadership

Identify and develop high performers for next level jobs/ senior management positions

Qualification

15+ years of experience in credit risk management

Experience in the financial services industry preferred
