Superintendent – Bulk Carrier
(Delhi NCR) ORGANIZATION: Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you will be in-charge of managing the technical and operational performance of 4-6 merchant vessels. Your key role is to ensure secure and effective operations of the company’s vessels, their routine and preventive maintenance, and that all international marine requirements are complied with. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and supervise technical aspects of vessel operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure vessels' technical readiness and reliability.
Collaborate with various departments to optimize vessel performance, budget management, and resource allocation.
Oversee dry-docking, repairs, and maintenance schedules, ensuring cost-effective and timely completion.
Develop and implement technical guidelines, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Coordinate and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
Provide technical support and guidance to onboard crews and shore-based personnel. YOUR PROFILE:
You must be a qualified Marine Engineer,
or equivalent diploma holder in marine/navigation.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a shore based position as a Superintendent managing Bulk vessels.
Previous sailing experience on bulk vessels as a Chief Engineer is essential.
Experience in managing dry docking at shipyards is preferred.
Experience working onshore in the marine industry or with dry docking will be advantageous.
Business acumen with capability to manage the budgetary responsibilities for multiple vessels.
People are oriented and passionate about developing shipboard teams.
Able to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
You have solid technical skills and enjoy solving challenging situations.
Well updated with the latest regulatory requirements and its implementation.
