About Astrobase Space Technologies Astrobase is a pioneering spacetech startup founded by prominent Senior ISRO scientists and IIT Bombay alumni with over 20 years of experience in designing, manufacturing, testing and flying advanced Cryogenic Launch Vehicles. Key Responsibilities

- Develop and review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
- Select appropriate welding processes, filler materials, and parameters based on material and design requirements.
- Ensure welding procedures comply with applicable standards and engineering specifications.
- Supervise welding activities during fabrication and assembly.
- Ensure welders follow approved procedures and maintain proper welding parameters.
- Monitor welding quality during production.
- Conduct Welder Qualification Tests (WQT) and ensure certification of welders.
- 8.Maintain records of welder qualifications and welding procedures.
- Coordinate with certification bodies if required.
- Coordinate with NDT Teams & Perform visual inspection of weld joints and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain welding documentation including WPS, PQR, WQT records, weld maps, and inspection reports.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, ISO, or project-specific specifications.




- Investigate welding defects and perform root cause analysis.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
- Optimize welding parameters and procedures for improved quality and productivity.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Welding Engineering (core requirement).
- Specialized certification in welding standards such as ASME, AWS, ISO, or equivalent.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) / Welding Engineer certification from recognized bodies (e.g., AWS, TWI) strongly preferred.
- Training in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) methods (RT, UT, PT, MT) adds strong value.
- Knowledge of WPS, PQR, WQT documentation and compliance requirements.
