Note: All roles involve work on defence programmes. Indian citizenship is required. Roles involve periodic travel to field trial locations (Army/Navy establishments across India).
Team: Platform Engineering & Integration | Experience: 3–6 years | Type: Full-time, New Delhi (frequent field travel)
About the Role A hands-on, cross-disciplinary engineer who owns UAV platforms as complete systems — mechanical structures, electrical integration, and field operation. You'll build, integrate, test, fix, and fly our aircraft, and be a key presence at Army/Navy trials.
Responsibilities
Own mechanical design and integration: airframes, mounts, payload bays, vibration isolation, thermal management (CAD in SolidWorks/Fusion 360; 3D printing, CNC, composites).
Electrical systems integration: wiring harnesses, power distribution, connectors, EMI mitigation, battery systems (LiPo/Li-ion sizing, charging, safety).
Assemble, configure, and tune complete UAVs — motors, propellers, ESCs, autopilots, radios, payloads.
Plan and execute flight test and trial campaigns:
pre-flight checks, safety procedures, piloting/supervision, incident analysis, and repair in field conditions.
Manage platform documentation: BOMs, assembly procedures, maintenance schedules, airworthiness checklists.
Coordinate with vendors for fabrication, components, and repairs; support environmental and qualification testing.
Required Qualifications
B.Tech in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
3+ years of hands-on UAV/drone build, integration, and flight test experience.
Proficiency in CAD and rapid prototyping; practical electronics skills (soldering, crimping, multimeter/oscilloscope debugging).
Experience operating multirotor and/or fixed-wing UAVs in field conditions; understanding of DGCA regulations.
Willingness to travel extensively for trials, including remote and high-altitude locations.
Preferred
DGCA Remote Pilot Certificate (medium/large class).
Experience with VTOL hybrids, heavy-lift platforms, or tethered systems.
Exposure to military trial environments and MIL-STD environmental testing.
