Role Objective

As a Study Abroad Academic Counsellor, you will be the primary guide for students aspiring to pursue higher education internationally. You will bridge the gap between a student's academic background and their global career aspirations by providing data-driven, empathetic, and strategic counseling. At Vidysea, you won't just suggest universities; you will actively identify and engage prospective students, helping them build a roadmap for their future using our proprietary tech-enabled guidance ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Generation & Market Outreach

-Proactively identify and engage prospective students through digital outreach, educational webinars, and school/college seminars. -Nurture inquiries and "cold" leads into active counseling prospects by building rapport and establishing Vidysea’s value proposition.

-Generate high-quality referrals by maintaining strong relationships with existing students and alumni.

-Represent Vidysea at education fairs, networking events, and workshops to expand the student pipeline.

1. Student Counseling & Profile Evaluation

-Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions to understand students' academic interests, career goals, and financial constraints. -Evaluate student profiles (GPA, test scores, extracurriculars) to provide a "best-fit" list of global universities and programs.

-Advise on country-specific educational systems (USA, UK, Canada, Europe, Australia, etc.).

1. Application & Admission Management

-Guide students through the end-to-end application process, including documentation, SOP (Statement of Purpose) editing, and LOR (Letter of Recommendation) guidance.



-Ensure timely submission of applications and maintain rigorous follow-ups with university admissions offices.

-Assist in scholarship identification and application strategies.

1. Test Prep & Prerequisite Guidance

-Advise students on necessary standardized tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, or SAT. -Collaborate with the internal tech/content teams to provide students with the right preparatory resources.
1. Post-Admission Support

-Provide comprehensive guidance on the student visa application process and documentation. -Conduct pre-departure briefings, covering accommodation, health insurance, and cultural adaptation.
1. Business Growth & CRM Excellence

-Drive the conversion funnel from initial lead generation to successful enrollment. -Utilize and provide feedback on internal CRM and guidance tools (like PathLynks) to track lead progress and improve the counselor/student experience.

-Meet monthly and quarterly targets for both new lead acquisition and successful student placements.

Updated Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 2–5 years of experience in overseas education counseling, business development, or sales within the EdTech sector.

Lead Generation Savvy: Proven track record of converting leads through consultative selling and empathetic engagement.

University Portfolio: Solid preference for candidates who have successfully placed students in premium, Ivy League, Russell Group, or Top 100 QS-ranked universities.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills; ability to influence and inspire high-achieving students and parents.

Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in using CRM software and digital communication tools.
