We are seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to lead the design efforts on various projects while supervising a junior engineer responsible for drafting and documentation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in structural design, a strong understanding of engineering principles, and the ability to mentor junior staff effectively.
Key Responsibilities ● Lead Structural Design: Oversee the design of various structures, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. Develop innovative and efficient structural solutions for projects.
● Perform Structural Analysis: Conduct detailed structural analysis and calculations to assess the integrity and stability of designs. Utilize advanced software tools for modeling and simulations.
● Prepare Technical Documentation: Create and review construction documents, specifications, and technical reports. Ensure all documentation is accurate and meets project requirements.
● Supervise Junior Engineer: Mentor and guide a junior engineer in drafting and documentation tasks. Provide training on best practices in structural design and documentation.
● Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with architectural, MEP
(Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) teams, and vendors to ensure that structural designs align with overall project goals. Facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders.
● Conduct Site Inspections:
Perform site visits to monitor construction progress and verify that work aligns with design specifications. Address any issues that arise during the construction phase.
● Manage Project Timelines: Oversee project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of design work. Coordinate with other team members to manage workloads effectively.
● Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies. Implement improvements in design processes and methodologies based on current findings.
Qualifications ● Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
● Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
● Technical Skills: Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000,
ETABS) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
● Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
● Leadership Ability: Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring junior staff.
