ABOUT
Agnikul Cosmos is a company incubated at IIT Madras and we build rockets that can take satellites up to 500 kg to Lower Earth Orbit (LEO). In May 2024, we successfully completed our maiden launch from our own launchpad (India's first private launchpad). The launch has proven all the recent technologies developed by Agnikul and also earned recognition from Honourable Prime Minister of India.
We are seeking a highly skilled Energetic Analysis Engineer to join our Flight Structures team focused on rocket structural dynamics. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and validation of vehicle system dynamics. This position requires expertise in Mechanisms, Vibrations, Strength of materials, Load analysis, Finite element analysis (FEA), and a strong understanding of aerospace engineering principles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive structural-dynamic evaluations of launch-vehicle systems using hand calculations, Finite element analysis, multi-body dynamics tools, analytical techniques ensuring compliance with all flight-environment requirements under quasi-static, transient, acoustic, and other critical flight loading conditions.
- Develop, refine, and validate integrated load models, including load-path assessments, interface environment predictions, and model updates informed by component-level tests, system-level tests, and ground-based data.
- Independently design, develop, and test flight critical mechanisms, performing complete end-to-end analysis, test planning, and verification to ensure reliable operation in the flight dynamic environment.
- Perform detailed modal,
harmonic, random vibration, shock, and vibroacoustic analyses to characterize vehicle system responses and support qualification and acceptance campaigns. Knowledge or experience with ground vibration testing (GVT) and qualification-level vibration testing is highly advantageous.
- Collaborate closely with avionics, propulsion, and flight-dynamics teams to assess and characterize the vibration environments of electronic assemblies, propulsion auxiliaries, and other mission-critical hardware, ensuring robust performance across all mission phases.
- Prepare high-quality technical documentation, including analysis reports, model descriptions, data processing, test-to-analysis correlation summaries, and verification/qualification rationale for engineering teams and review committees.
- Demonstrate proficiency in industry best practices for dynamic systems testing, vibration and shock simulation, multi-body dynamics, aerospace test standards, and emerging methodologies for dynamic qualification in launch-vehicle development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in finite element analysis, vibration analysis/testing, and multi-body dynamics software tools.
- Strong understanding of fundamentals of load analysis, vibration, dynamics and analytical modelling of vehicle systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
