Role & responsibilities

- Assist in blood donor screening, counseling, and registration.

- Perform secure blood collection procedures while ensuring donor comfort and safety.

- Monitor donors before, during, and after blood donation and manage donor reactions appropriately.

- Prepare and label blood units and blood components as per SOPs.

- Maintain proper documentation and records related to blood collection and transfusion.

- Assist in blood grouping, cross-matching, and transfusion-related procedures as required.

- Ensure proper storage, handling, and transportation of blood and blood components.

- Follow infection prevention and biomedical waste management protocols.

- Monitor blood bank inventory and report shortages or discrepancies.

- Ensure compliance with NABH,



NACO, and regulatory guidelines.

- Maintain confidentiality of donor and patient information.

- Coordinate with clinicians and laboratory staff for timely blood issue and transfusion support.

- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and training programs.

- Respond effectively to emergency blood requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

- Experience in a NABH-accredited hospital or licensed blood bank.

- Certification or training in blood bank/transfusion services will be an added advantage.
