Responsible for the 24x7 operation, monitoring, maintenance, service assurance, and performance management of consortium submarine cable systems and associated terrestrial transmission networks.
The incumbent serves as the primary operational interface with consortium partners, cable landing stations, landing parties, marine maintenance authorities, vendors, customers, and engineering teams for fault management, planned maintenance, cable repairs, and restoration activities.
The role requires strong expertise in submarine cable networks, wet plant operations, SLTE, DWDM transmission technologies, service assurance, incident management, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities Subsea Network Operations Management Consortium & Landing Party Coordination
- Act as the operational focal point between consortium members, cable landing stations, international partners, and network operators.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules, outage notifications, capacity upgrades, and service restoration activities.
- Participate in consortium technical meetings, maintenance planning discussions, and operational reviews.
- Manage operational escalations with consortium partners and external stakeholders.
Fault, Incident & Crisis Management Wet Plant & Marine Operations Coordination
- Monitor submarine wet plant health and performance.
- Coordinate cable repair activities with marine maintenance services providers and cable repair vessels.
- Support route restoration, testing,
and traffic migration during repair operations.
- Ensure compliance with consortium maintenance and restoration procedures.
Transmission & SLTE Management:- Oversee operations of:
- ASN SLTE & Wet Plant Systems
- CIENA 6500 DWDM Systems
- Huawei DWDM Transmission Networks
- NMS and EMS Systems
Capacity & Service Provisioning SLA & Performance Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team of NOC Engineers and Technical Specialists. Drive competency development in submarine cable technologies and network operations.
Manage relationships with OEM, consortium partners, Marine service providers
Drive timely implementation of corrective actions and upgrades.
Change & Project Management
- Support network expansion, technology refresh, and modernization initiatives.
- Manage planned maintenance activities while minimizing customer impact.
- Ensure change management processes are followed for all operational activities.
- Participate in new submarine cable deployments and integration projects.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Telecommunications, or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications in Subsea network operation, Marine Repair program
Preferred Experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Submarine Cable System Operations or Subsea NOC.
- Experience in managing consortium cable systems and international network operations.
- Hands-on exposure to global submarine cable environments and cable landing station operations.
