About the Role
We are looking for compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated professionals to work with children and adults with special/additional needs in inclusive school settings as well as home-based intervention programs. The role requires a holistic, goal-oriented approach to support academic, behavioural, social, and emotional development while promoting independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct individualized therapy and intervention sessions for individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Work in inclusive school settings to promote independence in academics, behaviour, communication, and social skills.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), Individual Support Plans (ISPs), and other intervention plans.
- Design and execute developmentally appropriate activities for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), Down Syndrome, Intellectual Disabilities, and other developmental conditions.
- Adapt and modify teaching methods, instructional strategies, and learning materials to meet each individual's unique learning needs.
- Conduct home-based intervention sessions using a holistic developmental approach.
- Provide independence training for adults with special needs, including social skills, vocational readiness, daily living, and workplace-related skills.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including parents, school staff, psychologists, speech therapists,
occupational therapists, and other professionals, to ensure coordinated intervention.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and therapy records.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs to stay updated with best practices in psychology and special education.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Robust interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Empathetic, energetic, patient, and passionate about working with children and individuals with special needs.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse clients across school and home environments.
- Good planning, observation, and documentation skills.
- Willingness to learn and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Educational Qualifications Candidates with any of the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
- Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology (Preferred)
- B.Ed. in Special Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Home Science, Human Development, Sociology, or other related fields
- ECCEd or Montessori Certification
- B.Sc. (Relevant Specialization)
Work Schedule
- Alternate Saturdays Off
- Sundays Fixed Off
- Working Hours: 7–8 hours per day
- Location: Mumbai (Western, Central & Harbour Line)
Salary Salary will be offered based on qualifications, relevant experience, and interview performance.
