Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. ​​Within Azure Data, the Microsoft Fabric platform team builds and maintains the operating system and provides customers a unified data stack to run an entire data estate. The platform provides a unified experience, unified governance, enables a unified business model and a unified architecture. ​

​​The Fabric Platform - Capacity Analytics team is hiring a Data Engineer II with experience in Microsoft Fabric to build analytics tools for Fabric Capacity Admins. Microsoft Fabric experience necessary with Realtime (Kusto) and BI (Power BI) preferred.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science,



or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.

Additional Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

- Acts as subject matter expert for configuring, troubleshooting, and monitoring Azure
- Database/Managed Instance services.
- Identifies opportunities and implement automation to resolve and reduce live-site incidents.
- Owns, triages, investigates, and resolves service issues with emphasis on broad communications, learning, and teaching throughout the process.
- Interacts with customers, spanning from technical to executive level, responding to escalations from support or service outages.
- Drives initiatives and projects across the organization.
- Periodic on-call responsibilities.
