Role Description The Senior Vendor Development Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Haveli. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing vendors for mechanical, electrical, and automation components used in BIW welding lines, assembly systems, jigs, fixtures, robotic cells, SPMs, and material handling solutions. Day-to-day tasks include assessing supplier capabilities, negotiating terms, monitoring vendor performance, and ensuring timely delivery of quality parts that meet technical specifications and cost targets.
The engineer collaborates with design, production, quality, and purchasing teams to align vendor development with project requirements and long-term sourcing strategies. The role also involves continuous improvement initiatives with vendors, resolving supply issues,
and maintaining accurate documentation and reports for management review.
Qualifications
Strong vendor management and development skills, including supplier evaluation, relationship building, and performance monitoring.
Experience in sourcing and procurement of components for automation systems, BIW lines, assembly lines, jigs, fixtures, robotic cells, SPMs, or material handling equipment.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, tolerances, and quality standards relevant to automotive and industrial automation.
Proficiency in negotiation, cost analysis, and contract coordination to achieve target pricing and favorable commercial terms.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, production, quality, and logistics) and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Experience with vendor audits, quality improvement initiatives, and root-cause analysis for supply and quality issues.
Relevant bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
Prior experience in a similar role within the automotive or automation industry, preferably in a senior or lead capacity.
Strong organizational and documentation skills, with proficiency in basic office software and vendor management tools.
Willingness to work in office in Haveli and visit vendor locations as required.
