The Senior Automation Engineer role is a new opening at Sony India Software Centre. This role will be part of a well-established testing team, working with a diverse range of technologies across a large-scale landscape.

You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and performance of the PlayStation.com (PDC) platform, which serves as both a B2C website and an eCommerce hub with 4 million+ page hits per day. This platform allows users to buy digital games, pre-order titles, and subscribe to PlayStation services.

The ideal candidate should have solid experience in test automation, framework development, Agile methodologies, and defect management.

Roles & Responsibilities

Test Automation & Framework Development:

- Develop, write, and execute automated test scripts for integration, regression, and usability testing.
- Design automation frameworks from scratch and enhance existing ones.
- Work on Selenium-based automation using Java and JavaScript.
- Develop test scenarios based on business requirements and validate acceptance criteria.
- Ensure test coverage by creating comprehensive Test Plans, Test Cases, and Regression Packs.

Defect Management & Collaboration:

- Track, manage, and resolve defects, ensuring clear communication with development teams.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to ensure quality assurance processes are followed.
- Report defects and participate in daily stand-ups to discuss progress and blockers.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production releases.





Agile Development & Continuous Integration:

- Work in an Agile environment and participate in Sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily Scrum meetings.
- Utilize JIRA, Confluence, and Jenkins for tracking and managing test activities.
- Implement and manage version control using GitHub.

Test Reporting & Enhancements:

- Create detailed test reports using Extent Reports.
- Identify areas for improvement in test automation and implement best practices.
- Stay updated with the latest testing tools and methodologies to enhance overall test efficiency.

Primary Skills (Mandatory)

6 to 8 years of experience in automation testing using:

- Java, JavaScript
- Selenium
- BDD framework (Cucumber, TestNG)
- Strong experience in Java Collections and Framework Design from Scratch.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Jenkins.
- Expertise in GitHub (Version Control).
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.

Good to Have Skills (Preferred)

⭐ Experience with QTest for test management.

⭐ Knowledge of Sauce Labs for cloud-based testing.

⭐ Hands-on experience with Applitools for visual UI testing.
