We're hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to own and grow a product engineering team (20-30 engineers) within a fast-scaling Global Capability Center for a leading US healthcare technology company. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role — not a delivery or program management role — for someone who wants to shape what gets built, not just execute a handed-down roadmap.
What you'll do:
- Own a flat, single-pod engineering team of 20-30 engineers directly — no layered management structure
- Partner closely with Product to define what gets built, not just how it gets delivered
- Drive architecture decisions and technical strategy for cloud-native, microservices-based systems in production
- Lead adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) across the SDLC
- Operate in a fast-moving, ambiguous workplace and make sound technical calls with incomplete information
- Own hiring, performance management,
and career development for your team
What we're looking for:
- 12+ years in software engineering, with 6+ years in engineering management
- Proven experience owning a team of 20+ engineers directly
- Deep, hands-on experience running production systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP — cloud platform is flexible, but real production depth is not
- Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and modern CI/CD practices
- Demonstrated use of AI tools (Copilot, Claude, or similar) to drive engineering productivity
- Experience building/scaling engineering teams from the ground up is a robust plus
- Healthcare or regulated-industry experience is a plus but not required — we care more about production ownership and technical judgment than domain background
