Role: Senior Software Engineer I - ServiceNow Automated Testing

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer I – ServiceNow Automated Testing / ServiceNow SDK (Fluent) to join our engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks, test automation solutions, and developing applications using the ServiceNow SDK and Fluent development model that improve the quality, reliability, and scalability of ServiceNow applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in ServiceNow platform development, Automated Test Framework (ATF), software testing methodologies, SDK development, CI/CD automation, and DevSecOps practices. This individual will work closely with software engineers, QA engineers, platform administrators, product owners, and DevOps teams to improve software quality through automation and engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions for ServiceNow applications using the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).




- Develop reusable test libraries, automation utilities, and frameworks that support enterprise-scale ServiceNow development using ServiceNow SDK.
- Create automated functional, regression, integration, performance, and API tests for ServiceNow applications.
- Design and maintain ServiceNow SDK components that accelerate application development and improve code consistency.
- Develop custom ServiceNow applications, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, Flow Designer workflows, and IntegrationHub solutions.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and deployment.
- Build automated validation processes for platform upgrades, application deployments, and release management activities.
- Develop automated testing strategies for ServiceNow applications, integrations, workflows, and APIs.
- Collaborate with Software Engineering, QA, DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Product Management teams to improve software quality and deployment reliability.
- Develop automated testing for REST APIs, IntegrationHub spokes, MID Server integrations, and third-party applications.
- Analyze test failures, troubleshoot defects, and implement solutions to improve platform stability.
- Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile development activities.
- Promote engineering best practices in software quality, testing, and automation.
- Maintain technical documentation, testing standards, SDK documentation, and engineering procedures.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of ServiceNow platform development experience.
- 3+ years of experience developing automated testing solutions.




- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).
- Solid JavaScript programming skills.
- Experience developing reusable software libraries, frameworks, or SDKs.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines .
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML, and ServiceNow web services.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies including functional, regression, integration, performance, and API testing.
- Experience with source control systems such as Git .
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- Experience implementing enterprise ServiceNow testing strategies
- Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, or similar automation platforms
- Experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Postman, or other automated testing tools
- Familiarity with DevSecOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Experience supporting large enterprise ServiceNow implementations
