Position Summary STERIS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer GUI to develop intuitive, high-performance user interfaces for medical device and healthcare applications. This role focuses on embedded and desktop UI development, with preference for experience using the Crank Storyboard framework or similar GUI technologies such as Qt/QML or GTK. The engineer will collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, compliant, and user-centered solutions aligned with STERIS quality standards.

Location: Pune, India Department: Software Engineering Reports To: Senior Manager, Engineering Duties Design, develop, and maintain graphical user interfaces for embedded and desktop applicationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, hardware, QA, and product engineeringDevelop UI solutions using Crank Storyboard (preferred), Qt/QML, GTK, or similar frameworksSupport multithreaded application development on Linux and Windows platformsTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defectsContribute to architecture, coding standards, and software best practicesDevelop and maintain automated tests and CI/CD pipelinesParticipate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives Required Experience Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering,



or related Engineering discipline 5+ years of software engineering experience in development and/or verificationStrong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills Preferred Experience 2+ years experience in embedded systems or application developmentExperience with GUI frameworks including Crank Storyboard (preferred), Qt/QML, or GTKProficiency in C++ and Python for automation or AI applicationsExperience with multithreaded development on Linux or WindowsFamiliarity with communication protocols and hardware interfacesExperience with unit testing frameworks such as GTest or CppUTestExperience with version control, CI/CD, debugging and code analysis toolsMedical device or regulated industry experience Skills Experience with developing on embedded Linux platform.Working knowledge of communication and network standards such as X509 Certificates, TCP/IP, HTTPS, TLS is required.Experience with YOCTO based BSP development is desirable.Knowledge of Internet of cloud connectivity and associated solutions is desired.
