Senior Software Engineer – Platform & Services

About the Role

Applix is looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Platform & Services to build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend platforms powering Digital Manufacturing and Supply Chain solutions.

You will design and develop enterprise-grade APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications that enable real-time data exchange across enterprise systems, IoT platforms, analytics solutions, and digital twin environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, and gRPC services.
- Build scalable, event-driven microservices using modern architecture principles.
- Develop secure backend services integrating enterprise and IoT data.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to expose curated datasets through reusable APIs.
- Implement authentication, authorization, OAuth2, JWT, and RBAC security.
- Optimize services for scalability, reliability, and low-latency performance.
- Deploy and manage cloud-native applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and observability for production services.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and Agile development practices.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate engineering productivity.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 7–10 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong expertise in backend development using Java and Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native application development and container orchestration.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid communication and collaboration skills in Agile environments.
