We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with 10+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise-scale Microsoft SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database administration, performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, security, automation, and operational excellence across mission-critical production systems.
The candidate should possess robust expertise in SQL Server architecture, troubleshooting, capacity planning, performance optimization, and database modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Database Administration & Operations
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain SQL Server instances.
- Manage SQL Server 2012/2014/2016/2019/2022 environments.
- Monitor database health, availability, and performance.
- Create and maintain databases, filegroups, tablespaces, and storage structures.
- Perform proactive capacity planning and database growth management.
- Manage database migrations, upgrades, and consolidation projects.
Performance Tuning & Optimization
- Analyze and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
- Troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, locking, and resource contention issues.
- Analyze execution plans and implement performance improvements.
- Design and maintain indexing strategies.
- Optimize database performance using SQL Profiler, Extended Events, Query Store, DMV's, and Performance Monitor.
- Conduct regular health checks and performance reviews.
Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery
- Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies.
- Perform database restores and recovery testing.
- Ensure Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 10+ years of SQL Server Database Administration experience
