The Role

We're seeking a skilled Commercial Interior Designer to design functional, code-compliant, and visually engaging interiors for commercial spaces such as offices, retail stores, restaurants, healthcare facilities, and hospitality venues. You'll guide projects from schematic design through construction administration, translating client goals and brand identity into detailed, buildable interior environments.

Key Responsibilities

● Develop space plans, layouts, and interior design concepts based on client needs, brand identity, and building constraints

● Produce construction documents, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, millwork details, and finish schedules

● Select and specify finishes, furniture (FF&E;), fixtures, lighting, and materials appropriate to budget and use.

● Ensure designs comply with building codes, accessibility standards, fire/life safety codes, and zoning requirements





● Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and vendors throughout design and construction phases

● Conduct site visits and field measurements; perform site observation during construction to ensure design intent is executed correctly

● Prepare and present design proposals, mood boards, and material boards to clients

● Manage FF&E; procurement, specifications, and installation coordination

● Track project budgets, timelines, and documentation across multiple concurrent projects

● Research and stay current on materials, systems, sustainability standards, and industry trends.

Required Skills & Experience

● Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture

● 6+ years of skilled experience in commercial interior design

● Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; strong skills in SketchUp and/or Adobe Creative Suite

● Solid understanding of building codes, ADA compliance, and construction documentation standards

● Knowledge of FF&E; specification, materials, and lighting design principles

● Strong space-planning and detailing skills for commercial environments

● Excellent client-facing communication and presentation abilities

● Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
