Responsibilities

As a senior engineer you are required to oversee the work done by design engineers. This is to ensure all their designated tasks are carried out successfully with minimum errors and high quality. For certain projects you might have to take on these responsibilities yourself.

Explain DBR and other design related documents / drawings to clients / architects / co-consultants, carry out any required changes to the same based on project specific requirements and get approval on the same from client for preparing tender documents. Project coordination with clients / co-consultants / architects and attending all required project meetings. Take responsibility for all the project related communication on behalf of the RSK team.

Periodic site visits to resolve any technical / site issues and keep team members informed about all the critical decisions taken in a given project and document them systematically. Review progress made by the team on work that has been assigned to them. Ensure projects you are handling are being smoothly & timely managed from design, drafting, execution, documentation, and commercial point of view.

Become an initial line of follow-up for billing and outstanding payments.



Ensure that the accounts and management is fully updated about the status of all your projects.

Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with team members, clients, co-consultants, architects and keep seeking new project opportunities through them.

Effectively manage the engineering and drafting team working with you. Play an important role in their recruitment, training, progress, retention, and work productivity. Understand and assume below mentioned responsibilities of junior engineers within your team in their absence:

Design Stage

Ability to study and understand architecture drawings.

Coordinate with architects / co-consultants / clients to get all required details for designing HVAC systems.

Refer to appropriate design resources and standards to get accurate design related information / data. Engineering judgment only to be used when details are not available within our database and senior team members.

Accurately fill load formats and carry out heat load calculations using HAP.

Select and design appropriate HVAC systems based on project requirements.

Ability to accurately fill out all related formats, spreadsheets, and documents.

Prepare DBR for projects with comprehensive HVAC detailing.

Tender Stage

Prepare tender documents based on the finalized design.

Study HVAC drawings prepared by the drafting team, ensure that all items from drawing are covered within the HVAC BOQs. Carry out accurate measurements for items such as piping, ducting and insulation.

Ensure that technical specifications and approved makes are included and accurately described for all BOQ related items.

Post Tender Stage

Carry out technical and commercial comparisons between vendors / contractors and assign ratings based on defined criterion.

Review technical submittals of vendors, comment / approval the same.

Review vendor GFC drawings, comment / approve the same.
