Senior Hardware Design Engineer

Overview The Senior Hardware Engineer will provide high-level technical contribution in designing, testing, and validating specialized equipment, focusing on embedded systems, circuit design, and multi-layer PCBs, ensuring compliance with stringent quality standards. Power Electronics experience is a MUST.

Key Responsibilities

● Design, develop, simulate, and optimize power electronic circuits including:

○ Inverters ○ DC-DC Converters ○ AC-DC Converters ○ Battery Chargers ○ AC Power Supplies ○ DC Power Supplies ● Utilize simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTspice, and other relevant platforms for circuit analysis, design verification, and performance optimization.

● Build hardware prototypes and perform hands-on testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis activities.

● Collaborate with PCB layout engineers or directly support PCB layout activities with focus on:

○ High-current and high-voltage routing ○ Thermal management ○ Parasitic minimization ○ Design optimization for manufacturability and reliability ● Select suitable power electronic and analog components considering electrical, thermal, reliability, and application-specific requirements.

● Conduct thermal analysis, qualification testing, screening tests, and EMI/EMC evaluations.

● Participate in Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR) conducted by customers and internal stakeholders.

● Support product development activities throughout the complete product lifecycle.

● Ensure designs comply with applicable military standards, safety requirements, and engineering best practices.

● Prepare and maintain technical documentation including:





○ Technical Specifications ○ Hardware Design Documents ○ Working Principle Documents ○ Schematics ○ Bill of Materials (BOMs)

○ Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP)

○ Acceptance Test Reports (ATR)

○ Qualification Test Procedures (QTP)

○ Reliability Calculations ○ Derating Analysis ○ FMECA Analysis ○ Design Reports

Qualifications

● Bachelor's or Master's Degree in:

○ Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)

○ Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)

○ Instrumentation Engineering ○ Telecommunication Engineering ○ Power Electronics Engineering ○ Other relevant disciplines

Experience

● 3+ years of hands-on experience in Power Electronics Design and Development.

● Strong experience in Analog Circuit Design and Power Supply Design.

● Candidates should have successfully completed and delivered at least 4–5 Power Electronics projects.

● Experience in Aerospace or Defence Power Supply Design will be considered an added advantage but is not mandatory.

Technical Skills

● Strong understanding of:

○ Power Converter Topologies ○ Analog Circuit Design ○ Digital Circuit Design ○ Control Theory ○ Control Loop Design ○ Power Electronics Component Selection ● Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools including:

○ MATLAB/Simulink ○ PLECS ○ LTspice ● Experience in hardware debugging, validation, and prototype testing.





● Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance requirements and mitigation techniques.

● Knowledge of military standards including:

○ MIL-STD-461E ○ MIL-STD-810G ○ MIL-STD-704

○ MIL-STD-2164

○ MIL-STD-1629

○ MIL-STD-217G

Hardware Skills

● Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment such as:

○ Oscilloscopes ○ Digital Multimeters (DMM)

○ AC/DC Power Sources ○ Electronic Loads ○ Logic Analyzers ○ Spectrum Analyzers ○ Power Analyzers ○ Other relevant test and measurement instruments

Documentation Skills

● Experience preparing and reviewing:

○ ATP ○ ATR ○ QTP ○ Reliability Reports ○ Derating Analysis ○ FMECA Analysis ○ Screening Test Documents ○ Technical Specifications ○ Hardware Design Documents ○ Design Reports ○ Schematics ○ BOMs

Soft Skills

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

● Excellent technical documentation and reporting abilities.

● Effective communication and collaboration skills.

● Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.

● Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities.

Compensation

● Salary Range: ₹45,000 – ₹50,000 per month (Based on experience, technical expertise, and interview performance).
