About the organisations
Mercy Mission UK is one of Europe's leading donor-advised funds — a values-led UK charity that helps philanthropists, families and organisations turn their giving into measurable, lasting impact. Founded in 2007, we have deployed around £40m to good causes, funded over 150 organisations and reached approximately 100,000 people worldwide. Our work spans custodian services, donor-advised fund services and impact measurement, all underpinned by strong governance and transparency.
Yeme Community Capital (YCC), powered by Mercy Mission UK, provides the financial custody and governance layer for Social Value funding — ensuring contributions arising from public procurement are safely held, transparently managed and responsibly deployed, with auditable, place-based impact.
The successful candidate will be contracted directly by Mercy Mission UK. For any questions, please email

The role
We are looking for a Senior Grant Administrator to own our grant-making process end to end — from application and due diligence through to disbursement, monitoring and reporting — across both Mercy Mission UK and Yeme Community Capital.
You will be one of only a few core team members, working remotely from India alongside our CEO and CFO. This is a broad, hands-on role with real ownership:
you will be the main point of contact for grantees and partners, safeguard compliance and risk, and lend your organisational skills across day-to-day operations as we grow. It suits a meticulous grants professional who wants their administrative excellence to translate directly into social impact.
Key responsibilities
Grant administration
- Run the end-to-end grant-making cycle, from application intake through to grant distribution.
- Review and assess funding applications against eligibility criteria and organisational priorities.
- Carry out due diligence, risk assessment and compliance checks on applicants and grantees.
- Prepare and manage grant agreements, ensuring all terms and conditions are met.
Grantee and stakeholder management
- Act as the main point of contact for grant applicants and funded organisations.
- Guide and support grantees across the full application and funding lifecycle.
- Liaise with funded projects to ensure accountability and demonstrable impact.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organisations, funders and partners.
Monitoring, evaluation and reporting
- Implement monitoring and evaluation processes to assess the impact of funded projects within agreed timescales.
- Secure timely, accurate reporting from grantees, providing support where needed.
- Prepare clear reports for internal teams, funders and external stakeholders.
Compliance and operations
- Support the onboarding of recent clients and partners in line with organisational procedures.
- Ensure all grant-making activity complies with our standard operating procedures and policies.
- Support wider day-to-day operational tasks across both organisations as required.
Essential skills and experience
- Proven experience in grant-making, grant management or funding administration.
- Ability to interpret financial and project reports submitted by grantees.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with strong stakeholder-engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- A proven track record of working remotely and independently, with a reliable home-office setup and stable high-speed internet.
- Able to work 09:00–17:30 UK time.
Desirable
- Experience within a grant-making charity, trust or foundation.
- Familiarity with grant-management or CRM systems, and confidence learning new platforms.
- Understanding of the regulatory environment for charitable funding.
- Experience working with UK-based or international teams.
Note: We use our own internal systems for grant management and reporting. Full training will be provided, so experience of a specific software package is not required — but confidence picking up recent systems quickly is important.
Contract and working arrangements
- Engagement: independent contractor, contracted directly with Mercy Mission UK (not a salaried employment contract).
- Fee: £10,000 per annum, paid in GBP (approximately 12.5 lakh at current exchange rates).
- Hours: full time, 09:00–17:30 UK time. This equates to roughly 13:30–22:00 IST during British Summer Time and 14:30–23:00 IST during the UK winter. Please only apply if this schedule works for you.
- Location: fully remote from India.
