Job Context: UltraTech Cement Ltd. is the largest manufacturer of grey cement, Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) and white cement in India. The company has consolidated capacity of 116.75 Million Tons Per Annum (MTPA) of grey cement. UltraTech Cement has 23 integrated plants, 1 clinkerisation plant, 26 grinding units and 7 bulk terminals.
Sewagram Cement
Works was acquired by UltraTech Cement Limited from erstwhile M/S Jaiprakash Associated Limited in the year 2015. The plant was commissioned in 2009 and has a clinker capacity of 3.63 MTPA and cement capacity of 3.1 MTPA. The Unit has mines with limestone reserve of 623.40 MT, a captive jetty, a desalination plant that can filter around 6600 KL of water every and two captive power plant of combined capacity of 57.5 MW and there is no Board Power available.
The plant also has an environmental cell which monitors air and water quality, audits, and conducts marine ecological studies and environmental studies of mines and nearby villages.
The focus area for Job holder is to ensure operation and maintece activities of Raw Material Handling section and Mechanical Utilities in the Plant and ensuring availability of mechanical equipment s to deliver desired quantities of raw material for plant operations. The position is also responsible for providing timely and accurate information to Management for taking strategic decisions, coordination with technical teams and supervising over the activities of team members.
Job Challenges
The plant was acquired from erstwhile M/S JAL in 2015 and most of the manpower has continued and regular upskilling is required for improving the safety culture and WCM Culture at site.
To bring cost optimization in operations by reducing the raw mill and utility power consumption and overall cost in terms of Rs. Per MT.
Reducing unwanted stoppage due to operational issues.
Ensuing smooth operations of Mechanical Workshop and maximizing its use for in house repair and maintece support.
Plan, Organise and monitor implimentatin activities for optimum plant availability in Mechanical
Descipine as per target to meet production from cement mill as per requirement and satisfactionof internal customers.
Coordinate the challenging of implementation / execution of maintece activities Execution of preventive & corrective maintece activities.
Ensure periodic checking.
Manpower planning one day in advance for daiy jobs.
Proper Job planning for shutdown jobs.
Spare parts planning for manjor shutdown jobs as well as fulfilling day to day basic requirements.
Analysis of major / minor breakdowns and plan corrective actions accordingly.
Interaction with OEM and suppliers for elimination of critical equipment problems.
Execution of all the major jobs during shutdowns.
Planning of contractor jobs to be carried out and raise service work order accordingly.
Attending coordination meeting regularly for discussion of plant performance on day today basis, collecting related feedback from internal customers, communicating subordinates and assure for the execution of corrective actions
KRA2 PLANT AVAILABILITY
Plan,

Daily monitoring of equipment health and maintaining records.
Maintaining proper housekeeping and following good maintece practices.
Discussion on chronic problems.
KRA3 COST CONTROL
Plan monitor and control spares and lubricants inventory and manpower cost as per budget in mech maintece activities in coal mill in order to optimize the maintece cost. Prepare Budget for RMHS area.
Monitoring expenditure with resoect to budget.
Classification of most critical and less critical and general spares.
Accordingly spares procurement from OEM and Reputed substitutensuppliers.
Carry out life value analysis for high value spares.
Inspection of materials from reputed suppliers as per OEM requirement for achievinglonger life of equipment.
Monitor stores inventory reduction , standardisatin and optimization
Monitoring of contractr cost comparing wth last year expenditure.
Close monitoring on workers overtime.
Planning odf spare parts and raising indent for procurement as per requirement.
Identifcation of maintece cost reduction parameters. KRA4 System Management
