Role Summary:

The Senior Cloud Engineer is a senior technical leader within Dyad's Engineering &

- Technology division, responsible for owning Dyad's hyperscaler cloud strategy, architecture, and execution across AWS and Azure. This role combines strategic ownership with hands-on engineering — defining cloud architecture, identifying weaknesses in current environments, and personally leading Dyad's consolidation of resources in the cloud. Beyond the migration, the individual will establish Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, lead infrastructure hardening initiatives, build and scale DevOps processes across engineering teams, and serve as the primary cloud authority across Engineering, Security, IT, and Product leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Strategy, Architecture &

- Migration

- Define and own Dyad's hyperscaler cloud strategy across AWS (primary) and Azure (secondary); establish architecture standards, reference designs, and cloud governance frameworks across engineering teams.

- Design end-to-end cloud architecture across compute, networking, storage, data services, identity, and security — proactively identifying architectural weaknesses, single points of failure, and scalability gaps, and leading structured remediation.

- Lead Dyad's migration from Lumen to AWS and Azure: workload discovery and classification, dependency mapping, network redesign (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute), cutover planning, and post-migration validation.

- Evaluate and make strategic decisions on hyperscaler services, managed offerings, and third-party cloud tooling aligned to Dyad's long-term product and business objectives.

Site Reliability Engineering &

- Hardening

- Establish and lead Dyad's SRE practice — defining SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets; building observability and monitoring frameworks; leading incident management, blameless post-mortems, and reliability improvement initiatives.





- Own Dyad's infrastructure hardening programme — implementing zero-trust networking, least-privilege IAM, policy-as-code (SCPs, Azure Policy), secrets management, encryption standards, and SOC 2- aligned security controls.

- Conduct regular cloud security posture assessments, vulnerability reviews, and access audits; drive remediation with clear ownership and timelines

DevOps, Platform Engineering &

- Cross-Functional Leadership

- Define and scale CI/CD pipeline frameworks, Terraform-based IaC standards, and orchestration practices adopted across all engineering squads.

- Build and scale cloud engineering processes, deployment standards, on-call frameworks, and cost governance across teams; report on cloud spend, reliability metrics, and infrastructure roadmap to Technology leadership.

- Mentor and uplift engineering and DevOps team members on cloud architecture, SRE principles, and security-first infrastructure design; operate as the cross-functional cloud authority across Engineering, IT, Security, and Product.

Production Operations

- Monitor and maintain application availability, performance, and incident response (on-call, alerting, SLA/SLO management) for all production systems across all providers, regions, and availability zones.

- Own deployment, release management, and change control — safely shipping code to production and rolling back when needed.

- Manage infrastructure capacity, scaling, backups, and disaster recovery for the live service.

- Manage all database operations

Global Corporate IT

- Provide and support end-user technology — laptops, software licensing, helpdesk, and onboarding/offboarding across all offices/regions.

- Manage internal systems and networks (email, identity/SSO, Wi-Fi, VPN, collaboration tools) and enforce IT security policy for employees.

- Handle vendor/asset management and compliance (procurement, device inventory, access controls) across the global org.

- 8 years of cloud engineering experience with at least 5 years of senior, hands-on AWS expertise in production environments, including direct ownership of cloud architecture decisions and major infrastructure programmes.

- Proven experience leading large-scale cloud migrations from legacy network and hosting environments (e.g., Lumen, colocation, or equivalent) to AWS and/or Azure, including network redesign and cutover execution.

- Expert-level AWS architecture: EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS/Aurora, VPC, IAM, Route 53, CloudFront, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, and Security Hub.

- Solid Azure experience: Azure Networking (VNet, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway), Azure AD/Entra ID, Azure Monitor, and Azure Policy — able to design and operate Azure environments as a secondary cloud platform.

- Expert-level Terraform; hands-on SRE experience including SLO/SLI design, observability stack design, and incident management; solid cloud security expertise covering IAM, zero-trust, and compliance frameworks.

- Experience building and scaling DevOps practices across multiple engineering teams, including CI/CD pipeline design, EKS/Kubernetes operations, and engineering process standardisation.

- AWS Professional certification (Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer) strongly preferred; must be available during US business hours and for on-call coverage during critical migration and incident events.
