Company Description The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) function, ensuring accurate purchase accounting, vendor reconciliations, invoice processing, and payment controls. The role leads and mentors a team of 4–5 accounting professionals, ensuring timely execution of tasks and adherence to financial policies and internal controls. Acting as the primary liaison between the accounting team and the Finance Director, the Senior Accountant drives process improvements, resolves operational issues, and supports effective financial decision-making.

Role Description

Lead and coordinate the accounting team, ensuring effective work allocation, productivity, mentoring, and process compliance.

Oversee the accuracy of sales, purchase, journal, bank, and general ledger entries, including ledger reconciliations and ageing analysis.

Ensure timely month-end and year-end book closures through effective coordination with cross-functional departments.

Monitor expense recognition, project costing, and working capital to ensure sound financial management and payment discipline.

Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and other statutory and regulatory requirements.

Review and ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and standard operating procedures.

Prepare and review accurate management reports, MIS, financial analyses, and ad-hoc reports to support business decisions.

Coordinate and support statutory, internal,



and bank audits by ensuring timely availability of financial records and documentation.

Maintain system integrity through accurate accounting records, master data management, and financial controls.

Collaborate with Operations, Stores, Sales, HR, Procurement, and other departments to ensure seamless financial processes.

Drive continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across the finance function.

Review overall accounting operations, identify key issues, financial variances, risks, and opportunities for improvement, and submit actionable management reports with recommendations to the Finance Director. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) is mandatory.

4-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.

Solid experience in Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, including purchase accounting, vendor reconciliations, invoice processing, and payment controls.

Sound knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards, GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and other statutory compliance requirements.

Proficiency in Tally ERP and advanced Microsoft Excel.

Experience in month-end and year-end closing, financial reporting, audit coordination, and internal controls.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reconciliation skills.

Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and team development abilities.
