Company Description Asmi – a School of Life – is an educational initiative founded by Delhi University alumni to address the essential life skills many people wish they had learned in childhood. The organization designs and delivers research-backed programs that go beyond traditional academics, focusing on practical and emotional readiness for the real world.
Asmi emphasizes foundational skills such as Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), Cyber Security, Sex Education, Entrepreneurship, and Personal Finance. Its mission is to redefine how these core competencies are taught to young people across India, preparing them for healthier, more informed, and more resilient lives.
Role Description The SEL Educator will design and facilitate Social-Emotional Learning sessions for children and young adults, using age-appropriate, research-based content that aligns with Asmi’s philosophy and curriculum. This part-time, remote role involves creating engaging lesson plans, delivering online classes or workshops, and supporting learners in building self-awareness, empathy, resilience, and responsible decision-making.
The SEL Educator will adapt teaching methods to diverse learning needs, maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, and provide regular feedback to learners and the Asmi team.
The role also includes collaborating with other educators, participating in training, and contributing insights to improve SEL content and delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience in facilitating learning for school-aged children or young adults.
- Demonstrated ability in Lesson Planning and Training, including designing structured, learner-centered sessions and workshops.
- Excellent Communication skills, with the capacity to explain complex emotional and social concepts in clear, relatable language.
- Experience or formal training in Social-Emotional Learning, counseling, psychology, or related fields is highly beneficial.
- Comfort with remote teaching tools and online classroom platforms; ability to manage virtual sessions effectively.
- Commitment to inclusive, gender-neutral, and non-discriminatory educational practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline preferred; relevant certifications in SEL or child development are a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability in meeting schedules, and openness to feedback and continuous qualified growth.
