Key Responsibilities

Salesforce CPQ Configuration and Development

Design and configure Salesforce CPQ solutions aligned with complex business and commercial requirements.

Configure products, product bundles, features, options, configuration attributes, and product rules.

Develop and maintain selection rules, validation rules, alert rules, and filter rules.

Configure price books, price rules, lookup queries, discount schedules, block pricing, contracted pricing, partner pricing, and volume-based pricing.

Implement complex pricing models involving regional pricing, customer-specific pricing, tiered discounts, rebates, markups, taxes, and promotional adjustments.

Configure quote line editor functionality, guided selling, quote templates, document generation, and proposal outputs.

Troubleshoot CPQ price waterfall, quote calculation, pricing sequence, and product configuration issues.

Subscription and Contract Management

Configure subscription products, evergreen subscriptions, and multidimensional quoting.

Implement contract creation, amendments, renewals, cancellations, upgrades, downgrades, and co-terming.

Configure proration, uplift, renewal pricing, amendment pricing, and subscription lineage.

Support complex mid-term contract changes and multi-product subscription scenarios.

Automate prospect, quote, contract, asset, order, and renewal record creation.

Advanced Approvals and Automation

Configure Advanced Approvals for discounting, non-standard terms, pricing exceptions, and commercial reviews.

Build approval chains based on discount percentage, deal value, product category, geography, customer segment, and margin thresholds.

Develop Salesforce Flows to automate quote approvals, contract processing, prospect updates, task creation, notifications, and renewal activities.

Use Apex, triggers, asynchronous processing, and Lightning Web Components for requirements not achievable through standard CPQ configuration.

Develop custom validations and reusable technical components to extend Salesforce CPQ functionality.

Integration Responsibilities





Design and support integrations between Salesforce CPQ and ERP, billing, tax, finance, e-commerce, and middleware platforms.

Integrate Salesforce CPQ with systems such as SAP, SAP Hybris, Vertex Tax, Workday, Boomi, and external pricing platforms.

Develop and consume REST and SOAP APIs for product, pricing, customer, contract, order, and asset synchronization.

Coordinate with integration teams to define data mappings, error-handling mechanisms, retry processes, and reconciliation procedures.

Troubleshoot integration failures, payload issues, data mismatches, and quote-to-order synchronization problems.

Requirement Analysis and Solution Design

Conduct requirement-gathering workshops with sales, finance, legal, operations, and product teams.

Analyze existing Lead-to-Cash and Quote-to-Cash processes and identify automation opportunities.

Translate business requirements into scalable functional and technical designs.

Prepare user stories, acceptance criteria, solution-design documents, configuration workbooks, process flows, and technical specifications.

Provide recommendations based on Salesforce CPQ best practices and platform limitations.

Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, solution reviews, and design discussions.

Testing, Deployment, and Support

Prepare unit-test cases, system-integration test scenarios, regression-test scripts, and UAT documentation.

Support SIT, UAT, defect resolution, release validation, and production deployment.

Perform root-cause analysis for pricing, calculation, approval, renewal, and contract-related issues.

Support data migration for products, price books, contracts, subscriptions, assets, and pricing records.

Manage deployments using change sets, Git,



CI/CD pipelines, and Salesforce DevOps tools.

Provide post-production support and resolve critical CPQ incidents.

Prepare deployment plans, rollback procedures, SOPs, user guides, and training documentation.

Required Skills and Experience

5+ years of Salesforce platform experience.

3+ years of hands-on Salesforce CPQ development and configuration experience.

Strong experience with

Product bundles and product configuration

Product rules and configuration rules

Price rules and pricing methods

Discount schedules and contracted pricing

Quote templates and document generation

Advanced Approvals

Subscriptions, amendments, renewals, and co-terming

Contracts, assets, orders, and renewal opportunities

Strong knowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud and Quote-to-Cash processes.

Hands-on experience with Apex, triggers, batch Apex, queueable Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, and SOSL.

Strong experience with Salesforce Flows, validation rules, approval processes, custom metadata, and security configuration.

Experience integrating Salesforce CPQ with ERP, billing, tax, e-commerce, or middleware systems.

Working knowledge of REST APIs, SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, and integration error handling.

Strong understanding of Salesforce data models, sharing models, profiles, permission sets, and deployment practices.

Experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery environments.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder-communication skills.

Preferred Skills

Salesforce CPQ Specialist certification.

Salesforce Platform Developer I or Platform Developer II certification.

Experience with Salesforce Revenue Cloud or Revenue Lifecycle Management.

Experience with SAP, SAP Hybris, Vertex Tax, Boomi, Workday, or similar enterprise platforms.

Knowledge of billing, invoicing, taxation, rebate management, and revenue-recognition processes.

Experience working on global Salesforce CPQ implementations.

Exposure to CI/CD tools, Git, Jira, and Salesforce DevOps practices.
