Role Description The Research Intern role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The intern will support research projects related to microfinance, economic empowerment, and customer behavior by collecting data, reviewing literature, and preparing analytical summaries. Daily responsibilities include assisting in survey design, field data coordination, data cleaning, and compiling findings into highly visual reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.

The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate data-driven insights that inform product development, credit policy, and operational strategies. This role offers exposure to inclusive finance, impact evaluation, and technology-enabled financial services.

Qualifications

- Domain Knowledge: Basic knowledge of microfinance and rural finance is expected.



Candidates without prior background in these areas must conduct foundational ground work and research on the sector prior to applying.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python for data analysis, cleaning, and manipulation.
- Data Visualization: Proven ability to create clear, impactful data visual representations to effectively communicate complex analytical findings to stakeholders.
- Research & Analysis: Strong research abilities, including data collection, literature review, and basic qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and other data tools; familiarity with statistical or research software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata) is a plus.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills, with an attention to detail and critical thinking.
- Logistics & Teamwork: Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: Currently pursuing or having recently completed a degree in Economics, Finance, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
