At the core of CARIAD is the development of the unified and scalable software and technology platform E³ 2.0 for all Group brands. E³ stands for ‘end to end electronics architecture’. The new software and technology platform is built from scratch and will be used first at the end of 2024 in Artemis, the lighthouse project of Audi.

As of 2026, E³ 2.0 is due to be scaled by the Volkswagen brand with Trinity in the volume segment.

About our Group

CARIAD COE (Centre of Excellence) is setup in Bangalore, India working exclusively with CARIAD and associated VW groups with the focus on development of ‘VW.OS”. The areas of work involve development of platform components such as firmware, boot loaders, AUTOSAR, Linux/QNX BSP, Service oriented architecture-based middleware components.

Role Overview

To strengthen our ORU2/3 team, we are looking for an experienced, analytical,



and motivated Business Analyst / Requirements Engineer to support the evolution of the Online Remote Update platform. You will play a key role in bridging business needs and technical implementation by translating complex requirements into clear, structured specifications for development teams. In addition to requirements of engineering, your responsibilities will include process optimization, stakeholder alignment across VW group brands, and supporting compliance with automotive and regulatory standards.

A core focus will be the definition, validation, and lifecycle management of requirements for backend services, cloud-based architectures, and vehicle-to-cloud interactions, as well as the creation of transparent project and service documentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements for ORU services and platforms.
- Translate stakeholder needs into structured user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria aligned with Agile workflows.
- Act as the central interface between business units, architects, DevOps teams, QA, and external partners.
- Define and model end-to-end processes for OTA (Over-the-Air) update workflows and backend service interactions.
- Ensure traceability of requirements across the full lifecycle (from concept to production and operation).
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and alignment sessions across VW group brands.
- Support backlog refinement, prioritization, and release planning in coordination with Product Owners.
- Analyze system landscapes (cloud services, backend components, vehicle interfaces) to identify optimization potential.
- Collaborate with QA teams to define test scenarios and validate acceptance criteria.
- Ensure requirements meet compliance standards (e.g., KGAS, IT security, regulatory requirements).
- Contribute to service and project reporting, KPIs, and data-driven decision-making.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation (process models, specifications, decision logs).
- Support change management and impact analysis for new features and system changes.
- Ensure alignment of requirements with system architecture,



scalability, and operational constraints.
- Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and business-oriented way to stakeholders

Technical Expertise

Requirements & Backlog Tools: Jira, Confluence, DOORS Modeling & Documentation: BPMN 2.0, UML, process flows, sequence diagrams

Data Analysis: rDBMS (Oracle, Postgres)

API & Integration Understanding: REST APIs, JSON, Swagger/OpenAPI (basic to intermediate)

Automotive Context: OTA/ORU processes, backend-to-vehicle communication (basic understanding)

- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in cloud and platform environments
- Proven experience in requirements engineering methodologies (e.g., IREB standards)
- Ability to handle complex, distributed system landscapes and multiple stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and structured thinking
- Experience in documenting processes and technical concepts in a clear and reusable way
- Familiarity with automotive standards, compliance requirements, and governance frameworks (e.g., KGAS)
- Basic understanding of IT security principles and data protection regulations
