Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Reporter role based in Karur. The Reporter will gather news, conduct interviews, verify information, and produce timely stories across local, regional, and relevant national topics.

The role involves attending events, press conferences, and meetings, and building a network of sources to generate original, fact-based reporting. The Reporter will write transparent, accurate, and engaging news articles and may support multimedia storytelling through photos, audio, or video. Collaboration with editors and other newsroom colleagues to refine story angles, meet deadlines, and adhere to ethical journalism standards is a core part of the position.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Reporting skills, including news gathering, source development, fact-checking, and story pitching.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including interviewing, listening, and the ability to explain complex issues clearly.




- Candidates should possess solid Writing and News Writing skills, with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and adherence to journalistic style.
- Candidates should possess basic Multimedia skills, such as capturing photos or video, recording audio, or coordinating with multimedia teams.
- Candidates should have strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to work under deadlines and handle multiple assignments.
- Candidates should demonstrate ethical judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to fair, balanced reporting.
- A degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in news reporting, is preferred.
- Familiarity with local issues in and around Karur, and proficiency with digital tools for research, writing, and content submission, are beneficial.
