About AdGrid
AdGrid is an early-stage AdTech and FinTech company based in Gurugram, building a platform at the intersection of advertising technology and financial infrastructure. We are a small, fast-moving team hiring the people who will help shape the company from the ground up.
About the Role
We are looking for a Junior QA Engineer to own product quality across web, mobile, and API. Our products handle real-time data and financial workflows, where a silent bug is not a cosmetic problem but a financial and trust one. This is a hands-on, judgment-led role. You will decide what "working" means before a feature is built, test it properly across the stack, and be trusted to say when something is not ready to ship, backed by evidence.
What You Will Own
- Design test cases, scenarios, and regression suites from a feature description across web, mobile, and API flows, without being handed a script.
- Test REST endpoints in Postman: request and response validation, status codes, auth failures, error states, and negative cases. Not just the happy path through the UI.
- Query the database to verify what the screen claims. Transaction records, campaign data, and dashboard numbers get reconciled against the underlying tables, not eyeballed.
- Extend and maintain our automated regression suite for critical paths, and keep it green.
- Log bugs a developer can act on with no follow-up conversation, covering steps, evidence, severity, and priority, and drive them to closure.
- Run functional, regression, and exploratory passes on every release, and contribute to pre-release sign-off.
- Sit in on acceptance-criteria discussions with engineering and product before build starts.
What We Are Looking For
- 1-2 years of hands-on QA on a live product, across the full testing cycle.
- Working SQL. You can write a join, aggregate a result set, and use a query to prove a dashboard number is wrong.
- Hands-on REST API testing in Postman or equivalent, including how you would structure a negative test suite.
- Comfort in an automation codebase such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium. You can read a test, understand why it failed, and write the next one.
- Solid fundamentals: severity vs priority, regression vs retesting, the bug lifecycle, and what belongs in an automated test versus a manual pass.
- Sharp attention to detail and healthy scepticism, with the instinct to assume something is broken until proven otherwise.
- Transparent written communication and high ownership. You follow through without being chased.
- Judgment-led use of AI tooling: faster output, but you own its accuracy.
