Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.

- Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, solvents, intermediates, chemicals, packaging materials, engineering spares, consumables, and capital equipment.

- Handle procurement for

API manufacturing

, chemical production, and R&D; laboratory requirements.

- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and maintain solid vendor relationships.

- Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings.

- Ensure uninterrupted material availability to support production and project timelines.

- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Production, Planning, Stores, QA/QC, R&D;, and Finance departments.

- Conduct supplier audits, performance evaluations, and periodic vendor assessments.

- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, statutory regulations, and safety requirements.

- Track market trends, pricing,



and availability of chemicals and raw materials.

- Lead and mentor the purchase team while driving continuous process improvement.

- Prepare procurement reports, budgets, MIS, and cost-saving initiatives for management review.

Required Qualifications

- MBA in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline.

Experience

- Minimum 10 to 12 years of procurement experience in a chemical manufacturing

,

API, pharmaceutical

, or specialty chemical industry

.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of chemical and API raw material procurement.

- Experience in purchasing R&D; laboratory items and production consumables.

- Expertise in vendor development, sourcing, contract negotiation, and strategic procurement.

- Knowledge of import procurement and regulatory documentation is preferred.
