Position Summary The Purchase Engineer shall be responsible for developing and managing the Company's subcontracting vendor base for precision machining and other outsourced manufacturing processes. The role is accountable for supplier qualification, work allocation, production follow-up, supplier quality assurance and on-time delivery while ensuring compliance with Shree Brahmani Industries' quality standards, technical specifications and customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vendor Development

- Identify, evaluate and onboard current subcontracting vendors.
- Assess supplier capability, manufacturing capacity and technical competence.
- Conduct supplier audits and capability assessments.
- Develop alternate sources to strengthen the supply chain.
- Maintain and periodically review the Approved Vendor List (AVL).

2. Subcontracting Operations

- Identify suitable vendors based on process capability.
- Allocate jobs considering capacity, quality history and delivery performance.
- Issue drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
- Coordinate material movement to and from vendors.
- Monitor work-in-progress at vendor facilities.

3. Vendor Coordination & Follow-up

- Track daily production status of outsourced jobs.
- Ensure adherence to committed delivery schedules.
- Resolve production bottlenecks through regular vendor interaction.
- Coordinate with Production Planning for priorities.
- Escalate critical delivery risks proactively.
- Maintain daily subcontracting status reports.

4. Supplier Quality Management

- Perform incoming inspection of subcontracted components.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finish and critical characteristics.
- Conduct supplier process and product audits.
- Handle supplier non-conformities and rejection cases.
- Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Monitor supplier quality performance and improvement initiatives.

- Identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Improve subcontracting lead time.
- Develop process improvements with suppliers.
- Reduce rejection and rework costs.
- Support value engineering initiatives.

Qualification

- ITI (Machinist, Turner, Fitter or equivalent) / Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience 3–7 years of experience in Vendor Development, Supplier Quality, Purchase or Subcontracting within heavy engineering, precision machining or manufacturing industries.
