Project : 400 MW AC Solar PV Plant (Tracker, Fixed Tilt, 33/400KV GIS Substation) Role Description The Project Quality Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Kurnool, responsible for overseeing quality standards across renewable energy projects from planning through commissioning. This role includes developing and implementing quality management plans, performing inspections and audits, and ensuring compliance with internal standards, client requirements, and relevant regulations.
The Project Quality
Manager will work closely with the Site Manager, contractors, and suppliers to identify issues, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring construction and installation quality, reviewing documentation and test reports, managing non-conformance and risk registers, and preparing clear quality-related reports for leadership and stakeholders Role Overview Key Responsibilities
"First Time Right" (FTR) Execution & Repetitive Activity Control
Civil & Mechanical Foundations: Establish strict pre-pour and post-pour inspection protocols for repetitive Pile Foundations (driving depth, concrete mix, and verticality tolerances) to prevent batch rework.
Module Mounting Infrastructure: Audit assembly jigs and torque-marking setups for Tracker Assembly/Installation and Fixed-Tilt Structural Installation to ensure exact pitch, alignment, and tilt tolerances.
Module Installation:
Enforce strict micro-crack prevention protocols, correct clamp positioning, and proper handling procedures during mass Module Installation loops.
Equipment Foundation & Placement: Standardize level checks, civil foundation handovers, and sealing inspections for Inverter Duty Transformers (IDT) and Central Inverters .
DC & Low Voltage Systems: Verify incoming string integrity and moisture-proof sealing for String Combiner Boxes.
Substation & High-Voltage Systems FTR Approval
Heavy Electrical Infrastructure: Oversee the rigorous un-tanking, core inspection, oil filtration, and moisture elimination processes for the 400KV Power Transformer.
Protection & Control Equipment: Standardize wiring audits, terminal block tight-testing, and loop checking for Control & Relay Panels (CRP).
Medium Voltage Distribution: Inspect insulation, busbar torqueing, and breaker alignment for MV Switchgears. [1]
Cabling & Infrastructure: Enforce strict bend-radius rules, continuous trenching depths, proper armor grounding, and high-quality lug crimping during massive plant-wide Cable Laying and Terminations (DC, MV, and HV).
Non-Conformance (NCR) & Defect Lifecycle Management
Proactive Defect Tracking: Identify, log, and categorize all Major & Minor Non-Conformances (NCRs) using a digital quality management matrix during construction and commissioning.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Lead RCA clinics with the EPC contractor to correct systemic failures before they repeat across the 400 MW site blocks.
CAPA Enforcement: Authorize and enforce Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), tracking them to absolute closure with verified field engineering proof.
Commissioning & O&M; Handover Excellence
Punch List Liquidation: Create, manage,
and systematically liquidate the master punch list before any sub-block or bay charging.
Dossier Compilation: Audit and compile "As-Built" quality records, statutory test certificates, and factory acceptance test (FAT) data into structured quality dossiers.
Asset Handover: Secure a seamless, sign-off-ready transition of the 400 MW plant to the Operation & Maintenance (O&M;) team with zero open major quality defects.
