Role & responsibilities

Role Purpose :-

The Planning Lead will be responsible for leading end-to-end project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and control for large-scale engineering and construction projects. The role involves strategic planning oversight, stakeholder coordination, risk mitigation, and ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities :-

Project Planning & Scheduling

- Develop master project schedules, baseline programs, and detailed execution plans.
- Prepare time schedules, milestones, and resource plans aligned with contract requirements.
- Review and validate schedules submitted by project teams and contractors.

Monitoring & Control

- Track project progress against baseline schedules and identify delays or variances.
- Analyse critical paths, slippages, and recovery plans.
- Generate MIS reports, dashboards, and progress updates for senior management.
- Monitor productivity, resource utilization, and construction sequencing.

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Contracts, and Finance teams.
- Interface with clients, consultants, PMC, and external stakeholders on planning matters.




- Support project leadership during review meetings and audits.

Risk, Claims & Contract Support

- Identify schedule risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Support EOT (Extension of Time) claims and delay analysis.
- Maintain proper planning documentation for contractual and arbitration purposes.

Team Leadership & Governance

- Lead and mentor planning engineers across projects.
- Standardize planning processes, templates, and best practices across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, quality systems, and project governance.

Key Skills & Competencies :-

- Strong expertise in Primavera P6 / MS Project
- Sound knowledge of EPC project life cycle
- Proficiency in earned value management (EVM)
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and senior stakeholder management
- Ability to handle multiple large projects simultaneously

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in civil
- Master’s degree in civil or PMP
