Program Manager, AI Frontier - STEM
Role Overview
Turings STEM team builds high-quality STEM datasets for AI frontier labs across math, coding, science, engineering, and technical reasoning. We are looking for a Program Manager to manage multiple client programs end to end, ensuring strong delivery, technical quality, operational discipline, and stakeholder alignment.
The ideal candidate combines program management rigor with a solid understanding of STEM data, AI/LLM workflows, people management, cost control, and client-facing execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery for multiple AI frontier client programs within STEM Horizontal.
- Convert client requirements into project plans, milestones, staffing models, workflows, quality targets, and reporting cadences.
- Manage cross-functional execution across delivery, DMs, SPLs, reviewers, operations, quality, finance, contracting, and client teams.
- Oversee FTE and contractor allocation, onboarding, productivity, performance tracking, timesheets, and payout readiness.
- Track delivery health across scope, timelines, quality, cost, utilization, risks, and dependencies.
- Provide clear client and leadership reporting on progress, risks, quality, staffing, and key decisions.
- Coordinate contractor-related processes including contracting inputs, extensions, renewals, issue resolution, and offboarding.
- Proactively identify and escalate delivery, quality, staffing, cost, contracting, or client expectation risks with mitigation plans.
- Support process improvements across quality systems, reviewer calibration, dashboards, workflows, and delivery operations.
- Contribute to broader planning, prioritization, and leadership discussions for STEM Horizontal.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of overall experience with 5+ years of relevant experience in technical program management, delivery management, AI data operations, or consulting operations.
- Strong understanding of STEM domains such as math, coding, science, engineering, or data science.
- Familiarity with AI/ML or LLM data workflows, including annotation, evaluation, SFT, RLHF, or expert-led data pipelines.
- Experience managing multiple client-facing programs at once.
- Solid skills in project planning, risk management, stakeholder management, reporting, and escalation.
- Experience managing FTEs, contractors, SMEs, vendors, or distributed contributor teams.
- Comfort with cost tracking, utilization, timesheets, contractor operations, and payout coordination.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI labs, LLM companies, data annotation platforms, or expert networks.
- Background in a technical STEM field.
- Experience building delivery playbooks, QA frameworks, dashboards, or scalable operating processes.
