– Production Manager, Production and Operation

About the Role:

Lead the monthly / weekly / daily production planning activities as per customer forecasts.

Responsibilities:

- To ensure manpower optimization based on plans.
- To improve performance by systematically removing waste and reducing product variation.
- Develop and lead the continuous improvement activities within the team.
- To ensure that safety and quality are key elements of the manufacturing culture.
- Build and develop relationships at all levels across the manufacturing function to spark ideas for continuous improvement.
- Implement KAIZEN and 5S, Hazard Analysis Critical Control point (HACCP) and Total quality management (TQM) at the plant.
- Responsible for the product quality of the plant.
- Employee engagement and employee motivation in the shop floor.
- To improve performance by systematically removing waste and reducing variation by LEAN deployment, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) culture thereby reducing cost on Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
- Communicating with all the relevant people/departments and coordinating for all relevant inputs (people, plant and processes) to ensure production output and on time delivery targets are achieved.
- Ensuring that goods are manufactured as per the production plan, quality standards and targeted schedule, to achieve delivery targets and annual budget as agreed.
- Manage customer order/schedule requirements.
- Responsible for Key Performance Indicators for the plant.

Qualifications:

- Quality
- Responsible for delivery FG as per pre-approved specs.
- Ensure DPMU (defective pieces per million units) is within the prescribed standards.
- Ensure that no defective material leaves the factory premises.
- To Ensure on Quality - No recall or product hold, GMP compliance.
- Build a Quality culture across the plant.
- Ensure rejected product/nonconformance is rectified on a high priority and customers are kept informed accordingly.
- Coordination with R&D; on technology transfer/R&D; scale up batches.




- Following the guidelines and coordination with QA and QC to establish effective quality control/assurance systems at factory to ensure consistent quality product delivery.
- Ensure Product deviation and quality complaints are minimal.
- Ensure timely closure of the market complaints and ensure Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) are prepared for any non-conformity. Sharing of closure report with Quality and Marketing Team.
- Formulating standard operating procedures for new processes/equipment for ensuring smooth operations such as QC/SCM/EHS/maintenance etc.

Maintenance:

- Preventative Maintenance (PM) – Prepare & execute a robust PM plan to ensure zero machine downtime.
- Ensure that the PM schedule is shared with supply chain & requisite spares, consumables are available as per PM schedules.
- Planning and upgrading the existing equipment to be in line with contemporary industry practice.

Supply Chain Management:

- To Maintain and follow the inventory norms for RM/PM, Engineering & Finished goods.
- Ensure zero production downtime for want of material or spares.
- Constantly review the inventory holding levels, PLT, TLT of suppliers, transport efficiency, etc. to optimize cost on inventory management.

Financial Cost:

- Responsible for overall plant cost & Profitability.
- Cost Budgeting - To prepare cost budgets & ensure the plant delivers on the budgeted spends.
- Conversion Cost – Prepare & monitor conversion cost of the various categories the plant manufactures.
- Cost Optimization Initiatives – Prepare & deliver cost optimization initiatives & ensure their successful implementation.

Projects:

- Technical up-gradation and validation process – Prepare business case along with budgeted cost of upgradation/new installations & ensure the projects are delivered within the budgeted costs.
- Handle all projects within the plant.
- Encourage & motivate all plant employees to suggest projects within their workspace which will lead to productivity enhancement and cost optimization and ensure successful implementation post business case approval.
