Role Description The Postdoctoral Fellow will be engaged in full-time, on-site research at Banaras Hindu University, located in Varanasi. Daily responsibilities typically include designing and conducting independent and team-oriented research projects, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. The Fellow will contribute to ongoing research initiatives within their host department or research group, assist in mentoring and guiding students, and participate in seminars, workshops, and academic discussions.
Additional tasks may involve preparing grant proposals, presenting research findings at conferences, and supporting the development of new research directions aligned with the university’s academic priorities. The role offers opportunities to work closely with faculty members, utilize advanced facilities, and build an international research profile within a dynamic scholarly community.
Qualifications
Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
Demonstrated research experience, including a solid record of publications in peer-reviewed journals appropriate to the field of specialization.
Strong analytical, methodological, and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in relevant research tools, techniques, or laboratory methods.
Effective academic writing and communication skills for publishing, presenting research, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to work independently while contributing constructively to collaborative projects, with strong time-management and organizational skills.
Experience in mentoring students or supporting teaching activities at the undergraduate or postgraduate level is an advantage.
Prior involvement in funded research projects, proposal writing, or grants management will be considered beneficial.
Commitment to ethical research practices, continuous learning, and engagement with the broader academic community at BHU.
