Reporting To: Shift In-Charge / Production Executive
Job Purpose To operate and monitor the distillation column safely and efficiently to achieve production targets while maintaining product quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the distillation column and related equipment as per SOPs.
- Monitor and control process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, and levels.
- Perform start-up, shutdown, and routine operation of the plant.
- Collect samples and coordinate with the Quality Control team.
- Maintain production records and shift logbooks.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report any abnormalities.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance team during breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Follow all safety procedures, including PPE, PTW, and LOTO requirements.
- Maintain good housekeeping (5S) in the work area.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Qualifications
- ITI (AOCP/Fitter/Mechanical) / Diploma in Chemical Engineering / B.Sc. Chemistry.
Experience
- 25 years of experience in operating distillation columns in a chemical manufacturing plant.
Skills
- Knowledge of distillation process and plant equipment.
- Ability to monitor and control process parameters.
- Basic understanding of P&IDs; and DCS/PLC operations (preferred).
- Valuable troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts.
