: Plant Manager
Position Title: Plant Manager
Location: Kannod, Madhya Pradesh
Department: Manufacturing / Operations
Reporting To: Head of Operations / Director Operations
Position Summary The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall manufacturing operations of the plant, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, cost efficiency, and timely delivery of products. The role involves managing cross-functional teams, driving continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing plant performance, and ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Lead and manage day-to-day plant operations to achieve production targets.
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and utilities.
- Monitor production schedules and coordinate with planning, procurement, and logistics teams.
- Implement best manufacturing practices and operational excellence initiatives.
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Foster a solid safety culture and ensure adherence to company safety policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions to eliminate risks.
Quality Management
- Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Drive quality improvement programs and reduce process deviations.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to maintain compliance and certifications.
Cost Control & Productivity
- Develop and implement strategies to improve plant productivity and efficiency.
- Monitor manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Drive waste reduction, energy conservation, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Maintenance & Asset Management
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Ensure plant equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Support capital expenditure projects and plant expansion initiatives.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop plant employees and department heads.
- Drive employee engagement, performance management, and succession planning.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and central government regulations.
- Maintain statutory records and support regulatory inspections.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, and quality management systems.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with corporate functions, suppliers, contractors, and local authorities.
- Support business growth initiatives through operational excellence and capacity enhancement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical,
Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in Operations Management preferred.
Experience
- 12-18 years of manufacturing experience with at least 5 years in a Plant Head/Plant Manager role.
- Experience in process manufacturing, FMCG, Chemicals, Agro-processing, Packaging, Engineering, or related industries preferred.
- Proven track record of managing large manufacturing teams and plant operations.
