H.G. Infra Engineering
Jaipur
Function: Project Planning
Role Level: Planning Specialist)
Location: Jaipur Head Office ((with project travel as required) or Project Sites
Experience: 10 – 15 Years
Education: B.Tech / B.E. in SCM/ Civil/Infrastructure Engineering from a Tier-1 or Tier-2 institution. Post-Graduation (MBA / PGDOM/ SCM) from IIM Mumbai (formerly NITIE) is strongly preferred.
About the Role
H.G. Infra Engineering Limited is seeking an exceptionally sharp, techno-commercial Planning Specialist to drive project scheduling, progress optimization, and commercial integration across our core infrastructure verticals—Highways, Railways/Metro, and Transmission & Distribution (T&D;).
This is not a standard scheduling role. You will act as the central brain linking engineering design, field execution timelines, and contract/commercial dynamics. The ideal candidate blends deep expertise in critical path scheduling with a keen appreciation of how engineering design choices and commercial terms impact project velocity, cash flows, and claim entitlements.
Key Responsibilities
- Master Planning & baseline Controls
- Develop, baseline, and manage integrated Master Project Schedules (L1 to L4) across multi-modal EPC projects (Highways, Railways, T&D;).
- Establish robust S-curves, resource histograms, cash flow forecasts, and critical path analysis (CPM/PERT) to ensure early identification of project risks.
- Standardize planning templates, Progress Measurement Systems (PMS), and Reporting Dashboards across project sites.
2. Design & Engineering Integration
- Integrate Design & Engineering deliverables into the master construction schedule,
ensuring drawing releases align with site procurement and construction sequences.
- Evaluate the time-impact of design revisions, GAD approvals, vendor drawings, and ROW/Authority clearances.
- Work closely with design teams to flag potential bottlenecks before they cause site downtime.
3. Commercial & Contractual Alignment
- Interface with Commercial and Contracts teams to link project milestones with billing schedules, cash flow projections, and price variation adjustments.
- Quantify delay impacts, analyze schedule variance, and build airtight technical/data-backed substantiation for Extension of Time (EOT) claims, change of scope, and variation orders.
- Monitor key financial metrics linked to schedule progress, including Earned Value Management (EVM), cost performance indices (CPI), and schedule performance indices (SPI).
4. Progress Monitoring & Risk Mitigation
- Conduct rigorous periodic reviews with site execution teams to identify productivity gaps, equipment utilization lags, and material bottlenecks.
- Perform what-if scenarios and delay fragmentation analyses to suggest actionable crash programs or sequence fast-tracking.
- Deliver clear, high-impact executive summaries and progress reports for senior management leadership reviews.
Required Profile & Qualifications
Education & Credentials
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil / Ops/ SCM/ Infra) from a recognized Tier-1 or Tier-2 institution (IITs, NITs, BITS, state premier colleges).
- Post-Graduate Qualification: MBA / PGDOM / PGP in Industrial Management / Project Management from IIM Mumbai (formerly NITIE) is strongly preferred.
- PMP, PMI-SP, or Primavera P6 certifications are an added advantage.
Skilled Experience
- 10 to 15 years of core hands-on planning and project controls experience in the Indian EPC / Infrastructure sector.
- Proven track record in at least two of the following domains: Highways (NHAI/HAM/EPC), Railways/Metro, or Transmission & Distribution (T&D;).
- Solid experience in deploying planning software at scale on large-value linear and nodal infrastructure projects.
Technical & Commercial Competencies
- Tools Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, TILOS (for linear infrastructure), and advanced Excel/Power BI dashboarding.
- Techno-Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of FIDIC / EPC contract conditions, delay analysis methodologies (Impacted As-Planned, Time Impact Analysis), and cost control frameworks.
- Design Appreciation: Ability to review structural, alignment, and site execution drawings to evaluate constructability sequences.
Leadership Traits
- Strategic mindset with a strong analytical and problem-solving focus.
- High balance of technical rigor with executive communication skills to engage project directors, clients, and consultants seamlessly.
