Position Overview
We are seeking a Piping Discipline Integration Coordinator to serve as the primary technical liaison between our North American engineering teams and our third-party engineering consultant in India.
This role is responsible for ensuring seamless communication, technical alignment, quality, and execution across geographically distributed engineering teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced piping engineer with strong coordination skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to bridge cultural and organizational boundaries while driving consistent engineering standards and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary interface between Kiewit's North American OGC Piping Engineering team and the India-based engineering consultant.
- Coordinate daily engineering activities to ensure work is aligned with project schedules, priorities, and technical requirements.
- Facilitate technical communication by clarifying engineering requirements, resolving questions, and ensuring timely decisions.
- Ensure piping designs comply with Kiewit engineering standards, client specifications, industry codes, and project procedures.
- Review engineering deliverables for completeness, consistency, and quality prior to submission.
- Coordinate the distribution of engineering work packages and monitor progress against project milestones.
- Identify technical risks, execution challenges, and resource constraints, escalating issues proactively when necessary.
- Support implementation of engineering best practices, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces between piping and other engineering disciplines.
- Participate in project meetings across multiple time zones and provide status updates to project leadership.
- Assist in developing workflows, communication plans,
and execution strategies that improve collaboration between North American and Indian engineering teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and help establish engineering processes within the Mumbai office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of piping engineering experience supporting industrial, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, or oil & gas projects.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating engineering teams across multiple offices or organizations.
- Strong understanding of piping design principles, layout development, piping specifications, stress considerations, and constructability.
- Experience working with North American engineering standards and industry codes (ASME, API, ANSI, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to build robust working relationships across diverse teams and cultures.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to support collaboration with North American project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with North American EPC companies.
- Experience coordinating outsourced or global engineering execution models.
- Familiarity with engineering document management systems and project collaboration platforms.
- Experience with SmartPlant, AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar piping design software.
- Experience supporting execution of FEED and EPC projects.
- Knowledge of quality management processes and engineering review procedures.
